The new Spring/Summer 2018 clothes are appearing in stores, so I thought I’d do a post on what the new trends are and whether or not I’ll be wearing them.
I like the idea, and in hot countries I can think of nothing better than a head to toe white ensemble, but I’m not so sure it would be very practical in the UK as it’s rarely that dry and I’d never be able to keep a white outfit clean. At least not for long. I’d still give this one a Yea though, as it will give me a reason to dig out my white Armani jeans.
Now stripes I can go for. Especially vertical stripes. They are very forgiving and as long as you stay away from thick black and white, which can make you look like a referee or a zebra, then you can’t really go wrong. Shirts, t-shirts, suits, there are so many options and something for everyone. A definite Yea for this one.
Side Stripe Trousers
I’m not too sure on these. Some can look o.k. and some look like a cross between jogging pants and tuxedo trousers. I used to have a pair of denim jeans with a black and white stripe down the leg and loved them, so I might go for it if I find the right pair. It’s a hesitant yes for now.
Tropical Print Shirts
These are always good for the summer, but I’m not sure they’re a good city look. I think the trick here is to stick to subtle and subdued colours rather than anything too gaudy. Another Yea, as long as the design is right.
This is one that everyone can go for. Prices range from the affordable to the ridiculously priced designer ones, but they’re all in essence the same hat. It’s just the materials and quality that differs. My partner loves them, so I’ll have to tell him he’s finally in fashion.
